The age-old tradeoff between channel count and sound quality is over! |
|
With the introduction of the Onyx 80 series from Mackie, the trade-off between channel count and sound quality is no more. The Onyx 2480 is a 24-channel premium mixing console built specifically for live sound.
From the beginning, the Onyx 2480 has been built with the highest quality analog components available, resulting in a console that makes absolutely no sacrifice in sonic integrity at any stage of the design. No corners were cut; Every Subgroup, Left, Right and Center main bus is electronically balanced for an uncompromised signal from input to output. All-new summing bus circuitry was designed from the ground up to maximize master section headroom, while minimizing noise and crosstalk. And most notably, premium Onyx mic preamps and Perkins EQ circuitry were specifically designed for optimum performance within the total Onyx system.
The technology of the Mackie Onyx 2480 is most impressive. This console provides the most flexible feature set in its class, with 16 line inputs each with 4-band Perkins EQ, as well as Monitor Flip function; a 10x2 Matrix Mixer; four Mute Groups; and an optional redundant power supply. It also features eight Aux Sends which become stereo pairs when the stereo switch is engaged, making it easy to provide four stereo mixes for IEM (in-ear monitor) systems.
You don’t need to worry about treating this console tenderly – built with beefy aluminum extrusions and steel bulkheads, the technology inside the Mackie Onyx 2480 is well protected. The chassis is extremely rigid, and is tested for impact, shock, heat, vibration and humidity – it’s even dropped repeatedly from a height of three feet! (Although the pros at CCI Solutions don’t recommend you try this test yourself!)
With more channels and features than any other mixer even remotely close in price, the Onyx 2480 is an excellent choice for any live sound application.
