On February 17th, 2009 the FCC will reallocate what is know as the 700MHz band (698MHz - 806MHz) of wireless frequencies to public emergency broadcast and telecom companies for their use.
How does this effect you?
As a user of wireless microphones, instrument or monitoring systems, you may have older equipment that operates in the 700MHz band. The FCC will most likely prohibit the use of wireless microphones in this range in the near future, perhaps as early as February.
Here’s the good news!
Wireless companies like Shure and Sennheiser are offering substantial rebates on the purchase of new products that do not operate in these bands. CCI Solutions has many affordable wireless solutions that operate in safe bands.
