The Shure ULX-D digital wireless system provides incredible performance at a great price point.The D in ULX-D means it's digital and the digital audio spec is 24 bit 48KHz. You can put up to fourteen channels in one television spectrum. So you've got uncompanded digital audio at 48K / 24bit making the ULX-D sound as good as a wired microphone.

The engineers at Shure put the ULX-D through an incredible number of A/B listening tests. They took a wired SM58 and compared it to a wireless ULX-D SM58 system. They talked through both wired and wireless mics, they played instruments through them while listeners heard the A/B comparison audio but were unable to see which mic was which. The listeners in the test could not tell the difference between the wired SM58 and the ULX-D SM58 wireless system! We say well done Shure! It's a big deal to achieve wired sound quality in a mid-priced wireless system.
