What Are You Feeding Your Projector? (The Sequel) What is a Scaler is Used For? Scalers convert video signals (NTSC and PAL) to pixel-format signals (PC signals). Incoming video signals (composite video and S-video) are converted to user-selectable output resolutions of 640 x 480 (VGA), 800 x 600 (SVGA) or 1024 x 768 (XGA). Since your LCD projector wants to see a computer (VGA, SVGA or XGA) signal on its input, the scaler will take the output from your VCR or DVD player and properly convert it for compatibility with your LCD projector. |
