The Audix MB8455 MicroBoom™ choir miking system gives your choir a huge sound without the visual distraction. Included in the MB8455 system is the Audix M1255B mini condenser mic element attached to an 84” carbon fiber MicroBoom. The MB8455 choir miking system has higher-than-normal mic sensitivity (12 dB more mic sensitivity than the MB8450), a cardioid pickup pattern and flat frequency response - the perfect combination for applications where the mic needs to be placed further from the choir, or where the choir level needs to compete with other high volume sources on stage.
Audix Micros Series microphones are the foundation of the MicroBoom™ line. They offer four pattern choices: cardioid, hypercardioid, omni, and super-cardioid (shotgun) capsules, all available in two different sensitivity levels. The capsule choices are designated as suffixes with the cardioid capsule being the default. To specify other options, add 'hc' for hyper-cardioid, 'o' for omni, or 's' for shotgun. The capsules are interchangeable and can be ordered separately as well, allowing for various pick up patterns to match different physical spaces.
The entire line operates on 18 - 52 V Phantom Power and is balanced directly at the capsule itself. All models provide RFI and GSM immunity and ensure the quietest delivery of the required signal.
The 84" boom arm is lightweight carbon fiber, weighing less than 1 lb total. The arm itself is connectorized so that a plugged-in Micros capsule exits the boom arm as a mini-XLR-M, which terminates to a mini-XLR-F to regular XLR-M 25' cable. The MicroBoom mounts to any microphone stand, allowing you to effortlessly extend your mic out over the choir for the perfect placement.
