This versatile two-way system has a trapazoid cabinate design that allows it to be used is a cluster or by itself, mounted on stage or on a speaker pole. Its 15" woofer and a 1" compression driver are made by JBL here in the USA. It utilizes JBL's innovative Progressive Transition™ Waveguide (HF Horn) to create the optimum in well-controlled coverage (90° x 50°), low-distortion and excellent frequency response. These top-notch components are combined with an extra beefy crossover that won't saturate when you drive the speaker hard. Built for the rigors of the road, the JRX cabinets are made from high-quality 3/4" MDF material covered in tough carpet to resist scratches and dings. Cabinets are finished off with tough, non-resonant all-steel handles and 18-gauge steel grille covering the entire front face. Adding to the speakers flexibility is a unique dual-angle pole socket design. You get a standard straight-up pole socket and one that is tilted 10 degrees. The tilted socket lets you get the speaker up high on a tripod stand, but aims the sound down at the crowd to avoid acoustic problems created by sound bouncing off the back wall. The standard socket setting is great for long-throw and outdoor applications. SonicGuard™ circuitry protects the speakers by absorbing excess energy like feedback or sudden pops -- without interrupting the performance.
