The Lexicon Omega Studio provides a complete, cost effective and simple recording system to use with your desktop or laptop PC or Mac Computer. The Omega Studio gives the user a true 8x4x2 mixer with two dbx Silver Series microphone preamplifiers with 48v phantom power, 4 TRS balanced line inputs, S/PDIF digital inputs, MIDI input and outputs, and four USB busses which allow multi-track recording. All this is provided without the need for lots of additional gadgets.

Steinberg’s award-winning Cubase LE software is a comprehensive, yet easy-to-use software suite with 48 audio tracks, effects and mixing functions. Essentially, it is a complete recording studio within your Mac or PC computer. Cubase LE integrates seamlessly with the Omega I/O mixer, so instant configuration is a snap. Lexicon also provides the Pantheon reverb plug-in, giving professional studio-quality recording effects to your projects.

I've used the Omega for several years now and love it! Of course, being USB audio it's clean. But the preamps are great! Clear, crisp, and open. Great transients. Great bass response. I've used it for basic line level connections and with various mics (like AKG C451's). It just sounds great! Having the two mic pres AND the 4 line levels (only 4 ch available at any one time). is nice for connecting more than just a mic and line device. The only downside I've seen is that the S/PDIF is only 2 ch. And note this is for a desktop since it has to have a power supply (but it has full phantom power). I've also used it's little brother the Alpha with great success (just not as versatile).
