Stephen Lund
The se425's are a great step up from the basic 215's. That's because the mid and highs are definitely louder and more clear while the dual driver keeps that bass fairly solid. Overall, I think the se425's are a nice compromise in tonal quality and price.

The better drivers in these also means the details are much clearer. This gives them a more open sound than the basic models. You start to hear details you've never heard before.

I wish they would not sell the grey ear-tips since I think those make the 315's sound cheap. Use the black tips, or better yet, use the yellow foamies or my favorite: the white triple flange. The isolation is even better than the black tips. And the isolation and tight but comfortable fit is what makes the bass better and the overall sound shine.

A note on bass and in-ears: NONE of the in-ear's have chest thumping bass since they're in your ears and not in front of you. I have yet to hear a pair that gives me all the bass I want (and I listen to thousand dollar models regularly), but it's because of our perception of feeling bass more than it not being there. If you're using these on stage, then you should be feeling the bass from the mains. But if you're just listening in an otherwise quiet room, you'll probably complain that there isn't quite enough bass.

Yes, there are better ear buds available (which is why I didn't give a full 5 stars), but for the price these work quite well.
