Portland Church Sound Training Seminar

Our last stop on the Northwest CCI Solutions FREE Church Sound Training Seminar tour was in Portland at New Hope Community Church.  This active and growing church is located just across I-205 from Clackamas Town Center.  It was a fabulous Oregon Saturday with lots of sunshine and warm greetings from New Hope technical director David Boots and his great staff.

CCI Solutions has a large customer base in Oregon, so it was no surprise that we had our largest registration and attendance at the Portland stop.  We saw many friends, clients and customers throughout the day.  We even had attendees from as far away as Boise, Idaho!  At New Hope, we were able to park the demo trucks end-to-end creating a 120′ extravaganza of demo rooms!  Our classroom was just off of the parking lot and the five classes, wireless microphones, networked digital audio, Contemporary Worship Acoustics, sound set-up and digital mixing consoles were all very well attended.

At the same time, we had demos of the new JBL VT4886 Baby Line Array speakers blasting all over Clackamas from our perch high-atop the hill!

My thanks to all of you that took the time out of a beautiful Saturday to attend the seminars and improve your skills and knowledge in church sound in Portland!

Seattle Church Sound Training Seminar

Our second Church Sound Training Seminar was held at Champions Centre, Bellevue, Washington.  Again, over 50 church sound techs came for a great day of classes, demos and personal interaction.  The two Harman Pro 50′ tractor-trailer rigs were tightly packed into the parking lot at Champions Centre, Bellevue and there was lots of sunshine, so church sound techs were out in force for the free demos.

We were warmly greeted by Mike Patterson, Champions Centre technical director for both the Tacoma and Bellevue campuses.  Mike graciously allowed us to provide facility tours of their new church home in Bellevue.  CCI Solutions systems consultant Greg Hearns hosted tours of the technical facilities and worship center at Champions Centre.  Greg was CCI Solutions’ lead consultant for the sound and lighting systems and was busy throughout the day giving tours to some very interested church sound techs!

I had another great time teaching contemporary worship acoustics in my class.  Tom Der, Soundcraft National Sales Manager, taught on digital audio consoles, Joe Wagner from AKG taught on wireless microphones, Loren Robinson from Crown on networked digital audio and Jim Mathews from Plus Four Marketing taught church sound techs how to setup and run their systems based upon his 25 years of live sound mixing experience, including being the sound tech for Tower of Power!

Another great day of teaching and learning!  Now, it’s on to Portland, Oregon and New Hope Community Church for our final seminar day on Saturday!

Spokane Church Sound Training Seminar

I’ve just returned from the first of our CCI Solutions FREE Church Sound Training Seminars.  Tuesday was in the great city of Spokane, Washington.  We had over 50 church sound techs come for a day of instruction and interaction!  The Harman Pro trucks were there with gear from Soundcraft, Studer, AKG, Crown, BSS and JBL.

Our host for the Spokane church sound seminar was Turning Point Open Bible Church.  Executive Pastor Paul Didier and Music Director Jason Roper welcomed us with open arms and wonderful hospitality!  Turning Point has a beautiful new facility that we at CCI Solutions are very pleased to have been a part of creating.  CCI Systems consultant Mark Pearson gave tours of the technical facilities at Turning Point having been our lead consultant on the project.

I was pleased to conduct a class on Contemporary Worship Acoustics and we also had four other classes taught by Harman Pro experts on wireless microphones, networked digital audio, and digital audio consoles.  Plus Four Marketing, the local Harman Pro rep gave a demonstration of the new JBL VT4886 Subcompact Line Array speaker system which sounds fantastic!

Now it’s on to Bellevue, Washington for our second church sound training seminar hosted at Champions Centre, Bellevue.
