Our LED Lighting Seminar Helped Local Church Overcome Lighting Dilemma
Jack Short and the worship/tech team at Neighborhood Church in Kirkland, WA wanted to add more color to their worship service and were considering LED lights. They were concerned that LED lights would not have the brightness needed to be effective in their application.
Jack Attended the CCI Lighting Seminar!
As a volunteer sound and lighting tech and regular customer of CCI Solutions, Jack heard about a series of lighting seminars CCI was offering and signed up to attend with some other tech staff members. The result was coming away with a new understanding about LED technology and a real solution for Neighborhood Church. Read what Jack had to say:
Will the LED Lights Be Bright Enough?
“We were pretty skeptical about claims that LED lights could be bright enough to use for our main stage lighting. Some of us were convinced that they wouldn’t work for us. While attending a lighting seminar hosted by CCI Solutions we found out how far LED technology has come recently and we saw first-hand that it really is a viable option for full stage lighting”
Our Challenges!
“Our challenge is that our lighting bars are mounted up and away from the stage about 30-32 feet. We needed to have really bright LED lights to provide strong color and light on the stage from that distance. At the seminar we discussed some options and CCI Solutions let us try different lights to see what would work the best. We ended up going with the Elation DLED36PRO lights.”
Other Problems!
“Another problem we had was that our old lighting console was becoming unreliable and it wouldn’t support the DMX control we needed to run the new LED lights along with our traditional fixtures. The Show Designer2 Console we purchased from CCI Solutions lets us control all our lights.”
Highlighting Areas!
“The way we use lighting in our services is to highlight different areas at different times so singers, choir and Pastor get highlighted when the focus is on them. The new console from CCI lets us program different scenes into it and with a push of a button we can change to the various scenes that highlight different areas of the stage.”
More Color is Exciting!
“With the new lighting and controller we get more color, which is exciting and it adds more interest and dimension to the services and special events. We’ve warmed things up without creating a distraction. People are coming up to us and commenting on how much they like it!”
