New FCC Ruling May Make Your Wireless Microphone Illegal!
Wireless Microphones Prohibited in 700MHz Band after June 12th 2010!
A New FCC Ruling states that the use of all wireless microphone systems that operate on frequencies from 698 to 806 MHz will be prohibited in the U.S. beginning June 12, 2010. The frequencies in this band were auctioned off by the FCC last year. Verizon and AT&T were the major winners and a portion was set aside for Public Safety use. This most recent ruling appeared abruptly and chased away any possibility of waiting this out until your wireless ceased to function (due to interference).
What This Means to You!
This will force many wireless users to replace some or all of their wireless systems in the next few months. Any wireless systems operating in frequency range of 698MHz to 806MHz (commonly referred to as 700MHz) will soon be illegal to use. The bottom line is you need to replace them, and soon!
