The PreSonus StudioLive® AR16 18-channel mixer is part of PreSonus' StudioLive AR Series of hybrid mixers that provide you with everything you need to mix and record audio onstage or in the studio. These mixers were designed by musicians for musicians, and the features you'll find here make it clear that there were no corners cut. Get great sounding mixes with the famous Class A preamps and 3-band EQ on each channel. Create multitrack recordings and add in backing tracks with the 24-bit/96 kHz USB 2.0 audio interface. Record and playback stereo files with the integrated SD™ digital recorder. Stream program music wirelessly from your phone or tablet with onboard Bluetooth®. These mixers are your all-in-one solution for any situation you encounter.

All of the Connections and Controls You Need
The StudioLive AR16 mixer comes with the connections and controls you need to effectively mix and record live, in the studio, or during rehearsals. Each of the eight mono channels and four stereo channels include 60 mm faders for level control, microphone inputs with world-class PreSonus class A preamplifiers, 3-band EQs, and more. You also get main mix outputs to feed your main speakers along with two monitor outputs each with a dedicated bus to send a mix to a stage monitor, headphone amplifier, or in-ear monitoring system. There's even control room outputs with level control to feed your studio monitors if you use this mixer as part of your recording studio setup.

Plug Guitars and Basses Directly into the Mixer
Typically, when your guitar or bass player wants to plug into your mixer, they need to go through an external direct box to go from a high-impedance signal to a low-impedance one that the mixer can handle. However, with the StudioLive AR mixers, the first two channels have high-impedance inputs so you can plug that guitar or bass directly into the mixer without the need for a direct box.

    Super Channel
The unique "Super Channel" (stereo channel 17/18) found on the StudioLive AR16 allows you to connect four stereo analog and digital sources at once, so you can connect all your high-tech devices for a wealth of playback options. Plug your media player directly to the mixer via the unbalanced RCA and 1/8" stereo inputs, or play stereo audio from the onboard SD recorder or from your USB-connected Mac or Windows PC. Use the onboard Bluetooth 4.1 to pair your phone or tablet to the StudioLive AR mixer for instant wireless streaming of break music or backing tracks. No matter what form your media files take, StudioLive AR mixers can use them to make your performances and shows more dynamic.

Record at the Gig or in the Studio — With or Without a Computer
StudioLive AR mixers offer plenty of flexibility to record any and all of your performances, whether or not you have a computer as part of your setup. If you do have a Mac or Windows PC, you can connect the StudioLive AR16 via USB 2.0 and you'll have an 18x4 multitrack digital recorder that captures all input channels plus the main mix at incredibly high-quality 24-bit/96 kHz. If you don't need multitrack recordings or don't have access to a computer, you can plug a SD card into the onboard SD recorder slot and record the main mix output at the press of a button. The straightforward simplicity means you'll spend less time fiddling with menus and buttons, and more time playing and recording your next masterpiece.

Plus, when you purchase a StudioLive AR Series hybrid mixer, PreSonus also includes their Capture™ live-recording software and Studio One® Artist DAW software, so you're sure to get professional-level results from any recording that you make with these mixers.

Sweeten Your Mix with Digital Effects
Along with all the other great features found on these mixers, PreSonus has also included an internal stereo effects processor complete with 16 presets including room, hall, and plate reverbs, chorus and delay effects, and even an effect that simulates an acoustically-treated studio room for warm and intimate sounding recordings. There is also a dedicated effects return with a master level fader and dedicated monitor send to adjust the level of effects in both your main and monitor mixes so you're always in control. You can also add an optional footswitch to bypass or activate your effects on-the-fly.
